Eastern Christian School is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Teacher is responsible for working with their principal, support staff and teacher colleagues to assist in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school.
Instructional planning:
Follow the school’s written curriculum.
Translate course goals into student friendly objectives for lessons suitable to the age level and developmental needs of students.
Plan learning experiences which encourage the natural curiosity of students and are relevant to their lives and experiences.
Plan lessons that connect Biblical principles to concepts about God’s world.
Design and use differentiated instruction which appeals to multiple learning styles.
Select means of assessment that effectively measures students’ learning.
Maintain a wholesome spiritual and emotional atmosphere conducive to the spiritual nurture and development of the students.
Teaching a class:
Assume the role of a teacher, coach, or guide facilitating learning rather than being the source of all information.
Emphasize the development of critical thinking where meaning and understanding of concepts have priority over factual knowledge.
Create a safe, caring classroom environment of acceptance and respect which encourages growth and nurtures spirituality.
Relating with students:
Establish a climate of love and care.
Define responsible Christian behavior, including guidelines and consequences.
In relating to parents:
Communicate regularly about their child’s progress and needs.
Respond to parental requests for information in a timely manner.
Professional growth:
Annually meet with the Principal or Supervisor to create goals for a Professional Development Plan.
Be committed to keep current with new research in learning and best practices.
Attend faculty meetings, inservice meetings and other assigned committee meetings.
Qualifications Include:

Ability to obtain State Certification or ECSA Board Endorsement
Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in elementary education

Eastern Christian School is seeking a Gifted and Talented Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Gifted and Talented Teacher is responsible for working with their principals, support staff and teacher colleagues to meet the needs of students who are academically talented by designing and providing advanced curriculum, enriched units, instruction in process skills, and effective growth experiences. Additionally, this teacher will lead K-5 STEAM classes.
Responsibilities of the Gifted and Talented Teacher:
Serve students in grades K-5 in a push-in and/or pull-out program.
Coordinate the identification and placement of gifted students and communicate with parents.
Develop and plan a creative program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide regular progress reports to building administrators, classroom teachers, and parents.
Provide support and professional development for classroom teachers in delivery of differentiated content to support accelerated learning in the general education classroom.

Positions available include both a.m. and p.m. daily routes, sports, and substitute drivers.

The Eagle’s Cafe (cafeteria), located at the High School campus in North Haledon, occasionally needs substitutes to help in the kitchen.
This is a five (5) hour shift. 8:00 AM-1:00 PM unless otherwise specified.
Requirements include personal mode of transportation for inter-campus lunch delivery. Tasks include general kitchen prep and clean up at the direction of the supervisor on staff.
